Class Descriptions

Getting Started with Quiltmagine / QCT (Beginner) Quiltmagine/QCT is an easy to use interface robotic quilting system. Most operations, like placing block patterns, or designing a pantograph, are done on one page with editing and customizing options available. Stitching is completed on a second page. This class is an overview of what you will find in your system, how to place blocks, create pantos, and customize and edit patterns. Quilt as a single pattern and Quilt in Zones will also be covered. This class is an excellent introduction and foundation for those just getting started with Quiltmagine or QCT. eClipse - Create a “no sew” area inside or outside (Gold feature) - (Intermediate to Advanced) You asked for it and The Grace Company has delivered. Stitch around the outside of an applique, focus patch, or other motif. You can even have a continuous stitch area around the defined space. Place a pattern either inside or outside the defined space. This class walks you through the steps using eClipse in both Select and Sew and Pantograph. This is a Gold feature, but you can join the class and play along in demo mode to give it a try. Pantograph Modes and Zone Quilting (Beginner and Beyond) Dream it up and there is probably a way to design it. There are four pantograph modes: Power Panto, EZ, Basic and Advanced, each with specific features and purposes. This class will cover all four modes and help you learn which mode you need for the panto you are creating. We will design a panto in each mode, use the many editing functions to adjust panto rows, remove or add gap, balance pattern across the quilt top, wrap rows vertically and horizontally, and create custom panto designs using QM continuous line or purchased E2E patterns. Zone quilting will cover the options found in Zone Manager, as well as the steps to follow to quilt in zones. Borders - Getting Started (Gold feature) - (Intermediate to Advanced) The Gold Subcrtiption Border feature will design four different border styles. Learn how easy it is to design, edit and customize for a perfect look. This class will cover two of the styles: border with corner and border with corner stone and offer tips for perfect design and stitching, turning the quilt and completing the side borders. No fear of stitching border patterns after this class. MItered corner border will be covered in another class. If you want to see how Borders works but do not have the Gold Subscription, the device can be put into demo mode by accessing Try Other Product Tiers (bottom right of Home screen) > Click on Gold at the top of the screen. PatternCAD Intro (Intermediate to Advanced) PatternCAD is a powerful portion of Quiltmagine that allows you to edit patterns, combine, and create patterns using its many features. This class will introduce the student to the working screen, the buttons commonly used, and tips for using PatternCAD. We will create several projects during the class which you can save and stitch later. Future PatternCAD classes will expand from this foundation. If using a touch screen device, please connect a mouse to the device. Using your finger or styless is not accurate enough and does not work well. More PatternCAD (Intermediate to Advanced - Take PatternCAD Intro first) After learning the basics in the PatternCAD Intro class, this class will dig deeper into other functions in PatternCAD. In a series of hands-on projects, you will tackle more creative designs and even create your own continuous line design repeats. Design Unique Borders & Sashing Using Version 5 Features (Beyond the Basics) Customize a quilt with borders and sashings you design. Using patterns and shapes already in Quiltmagine, learn how to easily use Version 5 update features to design your own unique borders and sashings. Once you know the techniques used, you will have fun creating using both Quiltmagine patterns and purchased patterns. Introduction to Virtual Longarm. Fun With QuiltCAD (any level) QuiltCAD has functions beyond creating a quilt top layout. Learn how to use other design functions in QuiltCAD to create block patterns and with a few simple editing steps in PatternCAD, combine and stitch as one pattern. We will also work with other features to design interesting and unique borders. Beyond the design aspect, we will create a simple quilt top, add designs, and even use QuiltCAD features to make the designs unique. Virtual Longarm (Intermediate to Advanced) Have you wondered if there was a way to stitch a vertical border or a pattern that is vertically larger than the throat space (safe area) of your machine? There is! Version 5 has several features that make this all possible. Learn the techniques and tips to make this happen. Knowledge of QuiltCAD and Zone Stitching helpful. Note: this feature is only available in Pro and Gold.
